Questions we hear at the counter
All eight, answered plainly
We can give you a general estimate over the phone, but every garment has to be seen in person before we quote it. Condition, age and material change the work enough that a number given sight unseen would not be honest.
Rush service is sometimes possible depending on our volume and how complex the work is. Call ahead on (310) 360-0466 and we will tell you what we can do that day.
No. We inspect and prepare the garment here. If it needs cleaning or glazing before it goes into the vault, we will tell you during your visit and you can decide then.
Usually within 24 to 48 hours. We ask for a little notice so the garment can be prepared and packaged properly rather than pulled off the rail in a hurry.
Yes, and we would rather you did. Bring everything that needs attention and we will go through it all in one visit.
No. The vault, the cleaning facility and the workroom are all on site at 3314 Livonia Ave. There is no third party handling and nothing gets shipped out, which is the whole reason we run the facility ourselves.
Yes. We clean and repair shearling, leather, wool and fur-trimmed coats, raincoats and specialty fabrics. If you are not sure whether your garment qualifies, bring it in and we will look at it at no charge.
Quite a lot. Full-length coats become vests or jackets, sleeves and hems get shortened, hoods and cuffs and belts come on or off. If a piece is genuinely past wearing we can frame it, use it to trim a new coat, or make it into collars, cuffs or a handbag.
