Fur Care · Cold Storage

A vault we own, in the building we work in.

Two stories of climate and humidity controlled storage at 3314 Livonia Ave. Your coat does not leave our care to be stored.

What actually destroys a fur, and what the vault is built to stop.

Heat, light, moisture and insects are what ruin a fur coat, and a closet in a Los Angeles home supplies most of them without anyone noticing. Left in the wrong conditions a pelt dries out and cracks, loses its shape, sheds, attracts moths and other insects, and loses the luster and softness that made it worth owning in the first place. All of that shortens the life of the garment. Our vault holds temperature and humidity steady year round, specifically to stop that process before it starts.

What never leaves the building

Because the vault is on our own premises, there is no third-party handling and no shipping risk between the counter and the storage rack. Access is controlled and limited to our own trained staff, which means retrieval is faster and the chain of custody never leaves our hands. We store furs and vests and jackets, shearlings and leathers, wool coats with fur trim, and vintage and heirloom garments, for both seasonal and year-round clients.

What the vault holds

Four kinds of garment we keep down here.

Fur coats should never be stored in a warm closet or a plastic garment bag, and home air conditioning is not a substitute for a professional vault. These are the garments we take in for storage:

  • Fur coats, vests and jackets
  • Shearlings and leathers
  • Wool coats with fur trim
  • Vintage and heirloom garments

Before a garment goes in

A coat is prepared before it is shelved, not after.

Cleaning and reconditioning

A garment goes into the vault clean, not the way it came off your back.

Glazing

The finishing pass that puts the shine and the softness back before storage.

Minor repairs

A loose hook or an opening seam gets caught now, not discovered next season.

Storage preparation and inventory labeling

Every garment is logged and tagged so retrieval is fast and nothing is misplaced.

Getting a garment back

Twenty-four to forty-eight hours, with a little notice.

Retrieval is typically within 24 to 48 hours of your call. Pickup and delivery are available across greater Los Angeles on request, and we accept both seasonal storage clients and clients who keep their furs with us year round.
